Troubleshooting an Unresponsive Lighting Device

Technical education for lighting-control selection and planning. Always confirm model-specific electrical requirements in the relevant manufacturer documentation.

Record the symptom

Is the device completely inactive, unable to dim or responding only to some commands? Note the test conditions and any reported error indicators.

Confirm the basics

Have a qualified technician confirm appropriate supply arrangements and wiring against the exact manual. For DALI systems, check the bus power arrangement and addressing or configuration where applicable.

Narrow down the signal path

Check that every converter has the correct source and destination interfaces, and that the downstream driver supports the resulting control signal.

Avoid unsafe trials

Do not experiment with live mains wiring. Isolate power as required by the installation procedure, preserve the observed configuration and request model-specific support when needed.
