Inventory what exists

Identify the installed drivers, their control interfaces, the controller and any existing sensors. Photograph identification labels rather than relying on visual similarity.

Define the change

Decide whether the goal is central control, dimming, sensor integration or a phased replacement of the current equipment. The goal determines which interface bridges are relevant.

Validate compatibility

Compare direction of conversion, electrical ratings, power source, features and configuration requirements. Remember that a converted analogue signal cannot carry every DALI capability.

Pilot before rollout

Test the proposed equipment on a limited installation, document the actual behavior and verify it meets applicable electrical requirements before wider deployment.
