Choosing a DALI Bridge: Start With Signal Direction

Technical education for lighting-control selection and planning. Always confirm model-specific electrical requirements in the relevant manufacturer documentation.

Identify the source

Document the signal produced by the existing controller. It may be digital DALI commands or an analogue dimming signal. The connector shape alone does not establish the signal protocol.

Define the destination

Write down what the driver or luminaire expects, such as a DALI control interface or 0–10V input. A DALI-to-0–10V product and a 0–10V-to-DALI product solve different interface problems.

Check the electrical requirements

Review supply voltage, output type, required channel count and environmental rating on the exact model datasheet. Check if configuration or commissioning is needed and whether feedback or advanced functions are retained.

Document your selection

Keep a record of the chosen model, signal flow and source document revision. If anything remains unclear, request clarification before installation.
