Capture the architecture

Keep one drawing identifying the controller, bus power supply, connected control gear, sensors and interface converters. Record the intended addresses, groups and scenes if relevant.

Verify electrical limits

Use the model-specific documents to confirm supply requirements, bus capacity, cable considerations, current limits and environmental conditions.

Test device behavior

Before expanding to the full installation, check the control direction, dimming response and any expected sensor operation using the proposed equipment.

Keep an issue log

When something does not work, note the model numbers, configuration, observed response and diagnostic indications. This is more useful than changing several parameters at once.
